Block Tree

Rutledge/Routledge Surname Project

When a male takes a BigY-700 test, he is assigned to a Haplogroup. He may be the only tester in the group, or he may be grouped with others.

The Block Tree (a portion is shown in the header above) is a great visual tool that shows how the testers in the project are related to their ancient ancestors.   The Block tree is the basis used for navigating through this section.  Just select the haplogroup of interest to go to that research page.

R-FT198778 - Maryland   Haplogroup R-FT198778 may represent the common ancestor of a group of six testers. Michael was in Baltimore County, Maryland as early as 1690.
